When I was a wee child, I would collect pretty pebbles and stones from parking lots and odd places to collect and show off. I am from Houston, Texas and I often go by "Xenia" in Greece, and "Polly" in the states being that it is hard for some to pronounce. I express my artistic talents through a multitude of medias including hand crafted jewelry, B/W & color photography, pyrographic creations, polymer clay art & hand coded HTML & CSS web design.

After graduating high school, I went to the Art Institute of Houston for Photography for two years and have always had some project going whether it was a necklace for Mom or a one-of-a-kind birthday gift. I loved the fact that what I was giving was specifically for that person and could not be bought at the local Wal-Mart. Gradually, jewelry fever circulated and Designs & Imaging By Xenia was born in 2001. By day I worked designing ads and street maps for cities and businesses around the Southeastern US and by night I beaded my heart out. Slowly, my talents seemed to spread into other realms of articulation and in February 2005 I quit my job to follow my artistic path and take the business head-on and full-time.

My designs have been shown all over Houston including Praha Day Spa in the Heights and The Great Frame Up in the Houston Memorial area. I worked with Gallery 19 (Now H Gallery) for 3 years to help promote local artists and gain exposure within Houston's art crowd and was in charge of the monthly Artropolis Newsletter.

In September 2008, Hurricane Ike hit the Houston area and through the two weeks of sitting in the dark my anxieties were high. The loss of so much around us devistated the business and I worked with FEMA for about a year to help clean up Ike's wrath. After all, people needed new roofs, not jewelry! I now work for NASA but still create one-of-a-kind commisioned pieces on the side for all of my wonderful clients. Looks like I'm back to square one!

My designs are currently available at Maximillian Hair located in Deer Park, Texas.
